Dear Carol,

It is difficult to put in words how much I appreciate the loving care that my mother, Golda Strong, received in her 3 1/2 year stay at El Jen. It is hard to imagine how you could have put together such a complete staff of loving, caring people. Not only the nursing staff who had the most contact with her but the kitchen, housekeeping, activities, maintenance and administrative staff. They all helped to make her stay more pleasant.

I never fully realized what a great group of people they were until the day that Mother had her last stroke and was being transported to the hospital. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place.

If ever you would like to use me as a reference do not hesitate to call.

There will always be a tender spot in my heart for the entire staff at El Jen.

Regards,

Jerry Strong

Re: Shirley Dash.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Toomey,

I wish to express my appreciation to your entire staff for the loving and gentle care provided to my mother during her 8 1/2 years at El Jen.

The genuine concern for her comfort, the professional care, and the always-apparent affection for her by the caregivers, made her last days comfortable and peaceful.

My personal contact with the staff was most frequently with Debbie Valentino, whose friendship I highly regard and whose job performance evaluation must be nothing less than excellent.

I would also like to call your attention to care supervisor James Mongen who always tried to keep my mother in comfort and dignity through his many efforts for her and others in his care.

To omit Ludi, Janine, and Terry Walter from this note would be unfair as they also did a great job. I apologize for not knowing all the names of the others as there were different shifts and changing faces over the years.

I assure you both that you have been very successful in your endeavors to provide one of the finest care facilities in the state.

Sincerely,

David P. Dash

Dear Carol:

I want you and your very professional staff to know how much I appreciated the excellent care my mother, Elizabeth Atkinson, received when she was a resident at your facility, for nearly four years.

The nurses and aids could not have been any more caring and considerate of Mother. I truly believe she lived those extra years because of the care she received.

The cleanliness and deliciously prepared meals could not have been improved on one bit. Mother always said, "They're cleaning those shiny floors every day!"

Thank you for your professional nursing staff and aids. They were wonderful to me. I will never forget the family atmosphere that was shown to Mother and to me.

I will truly miss all of you and will never be able to thank you enough.

Fondly,
Betty B. Souther
